South Orange & Maplewood, New Jersey
Useful things for the town we live in.
SOMA Labs is a small studio in South Orange and Maplewood. We live here, and we make apps and services for our neighbors. Things that help with everyday life in town, like getting to the city in the morning or knowing which week the recycling goes out.
What we've made so far
-
SOMA Commute
An iPhone app. Coming soon to the App Store.
For getting from Maplewood or South Orange into New York, by train to Penn Station or to Hoboken and the PATH. It shows the next train you can actually catch, which track it's on, and how the jitney, the train and the PATH fit together into one trip, with the time you'll get in.
-
Maplewood Recycling
A website for Maplewood households.
Type in your address to find your recycling zone. You'll see the pickup days for the year and what can go in the bin, and you can put reminders on your calendar for pickup day or the night before.
Have an idea for something the town could use? We'd like to hear it. Write to us at support@somalabs.dev.
